Michelle Forward, Osteopath (D.O.M.P), RMT

My Osteopathic practice, located @ 6294 Duncan Street, Halifax, is centered on the osteopathic foundation which takes a whole-person approach to healing and the interconnectedness of mind, body and spirit. The osteopathic approach aids in pain relief and encourages the nervous system, organs, and musculoskeletal systems to balance and heal. The importance of treating every client with a trauma informed lens is paramount. With each therapy treatment, I empower my clients with knowledge of their conditions and the choices available to them. This is important in the mind-body connection that facilitates positive change.
What to expect during your osteopathic treatment:
Please wear comfortable clothing such as jogging pants, yoga pants, shorts, t-shirt or tank top. There will be a comprehensive health history taken as well as assessment. You will be clothed for the entire session and permission will be seeked prior to touching you.
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy emphasizes the wholeness of the body, the inter-relatedness of the body’s structure to its function, and its self healing properties.
Osteopathic therapists study in detail the anatomy and physiology of the body, developing an understanding of how the body is structured and how it functions. One of the central principles of osteopathy is that if the body is well aligned the inherent wisdom of the body will heal itself.
